Chanchiben Koli, a sixty year old widow from Mandav village has been engaged in farming in their two acre land. She has been an active member and has participated in many campaigns spearheaded by Devgadh Mahila Sangathan for forest land rights. Chanchiben is hopeful that one day the land will be given to her as per the Forest Rights Act.Mahila Sangathan to help people reclaim their lands. In her village over 19 people had filed claim and from which nine cases have gone for reappeal as their claims were dismissed earlier inspite of having all proof and documents of ownership. Like Sagudiben, many have been dependent on forests all their lives.
