Gram Sathi Majulaben Savaya, in conversation with people who came back to village during lockdown
An incredible example has been set in Ratadiya village by the Panchayat, Gram Sathi Manjulaben and ANANDI. A community quarantine facility has been created in the villager for people who returned to village during the lockdown. Around 33 people including women and children returned from Kapadwanj, where they had gone for work. These people were stuck without food and necessary things, therefore Manjulaben contacted the collector offices of Kheda and Dahod districts and helped them in getting timely food and ration. She also made efforts to bring them back and created a community quarantine facility at the village school. Young Gram Sathi Manjulaben took care of the people, their health and needs in a timely fashion.

Mamta day in the village had very less attendance, so was the attendance in Anganwadi. To resolve this Manjulaben appointed a woman to bring and drop the children safely from their homes to Anganwadi. When she enquired about reasons for women not going to Mamta Divas, Manjulaben got to know that they fear the injection as they felt it gives fever to people. She informed the women about reasons for fever and gave them an insight about importance of vaccinations and good health.

Many families migrate to other towns and cities in search of work. As mostly children also travel along with their families, at times they were unable to attend school. However, with families now getting daily jobs at nearby villages, these children stay in the village with their extended families. However, they don’t go back to school. Manjulaben makes it a point to visit these children on a regular basis and interact with these children and their parents and encourage them to attend school again. Her efforts have been successful as the children from Nayak street, now has gone back to attending regular classes.
